Getting There…

So, I’m getting ready to launch a couple new Amazon sites. These will run alongside the ones I already have and also have some new features.

I’m trying some new things for my sites, like RSS feeds from other related sites, etc to help boost visitors and traffic. I’ll just have to wait and see how it all goes.

Lineousity…

Lineousity…

Like that word? It’s different isn’t it? This word was brought about randomly as part of a new theory in relativity.

What is Lineousity? Is it some brilliant new theory to prove how everything fits together?

No, not at all…

Lineousity is very simply, the theory that says that whatever line you are in, be it at a movie theatre, at a checkout or driving, the line next to you will always move faster. In fact, as soon as you move into this faster moving lane, the lane you just left will then start to double in speed and move faster than your new line.

Sometimes, it’s also possible to achieve Singular Lineousity. This is when all lines appear to move faster than you and you are left staying in one place while the people beside you, in front of you and even behind you increase their speed.

Ok… So maybe I’m just babbling after dealing with traffic on a Friday evening and this is all just something I came up with while getting tired of every other lane moving faster than me, but I’m sure there’s proof somewhere that Lineousity is real. :)

Macs and iPods…

So, I recently got a Mac Mini because a client decided I needed to be able to test their web sites from it so he got one for me to use as a work station at home.

It’s pretty cool. So much power in a such a tiny little box. The mini stands at a total size of 2 inches high and 6.5 inches by 6.5 inches in width and length.

I installed the new Tiger upgrade for their OS and I have to say, it’s a pretty smooth system. I won’t be putting my laptop away anytime soon, but for development purposes, the mac is definitely nice to have.

I also recently got an iPod Shuffle. That thing’s gotten used everywhere since I got it. I’ve been using an FM transmitter to broadcast it over the radio in the car, nice change to be able to listen to MP3s in the car instead of the radio or a CD.

Am I a Mac switcher? No, merely a Mac user. However, that won’t stop me from using my mac more and posting about new stuff on there :)

Welcome to My Blog

Welcome to Tyde On The Web… This site was created to serve as my blog. I’ve had a few blogs before, and never can decide what I want to do with them, but this time, I think I’ll try to make this blog a little different.

First, a little about me. My nickname is Tyde, but my real name is Roger. I’m also known in some circles as Freekrai. I’m a PHP developer / webmaster from sunny Kelowna, British Columbia on the west coast of Canada. I’ve been a PHP developer for about 4 years and have racked up experience on all fields of web development from SEO to design to project management to usability to coding. As a freelancer, I’ve managed to achieve a large client base and as a developer, I’ve managed to gain a reputation for my PHP work thanks to a few scripts I’ve written and a few articles I’ve published.

I think what I want from this blog is a place to occasionally post experiments I’m doing with some sites but also to just talk about stuff.
