I upgraded my credit card web site at www.find-cards.com over the weekend. New design, new schema, new site. Much faster than the previous one.

I also set up the search script to work with freekrai.net the weekend, but I haven’t made the link available to people yet. Will be doing that shortly.

Other than that, spent the weekend doing some work for clients and getting the girlfriend’s house ready for winter. Helping out down there kind of makes up for the fact that there are people who get paid to get my house ready for winter.

Also, I’m planning on adding a new section to this blog. I’m gonna set up a recipe category since I also run a cooking site and am a chef. You’ll see some recipes show up very shortly.

I finished work on my new site search engine script last night.

This script crawls a web site and then lets people search the pages of that site. It’s pretty cool and fast. Gonna set it up on a couple sites that I own to try it out. I also set it up to be able to create a google sitemap from the links it crawls so it will serve two purposes.

I like having a seperate search engine script instead of building it straight into the scripts because this way, it gets to stay universal through it all.

My plan is to brand it to sell after it gets a good workout on my sites.

Other than that, my overstock script is almost done and the site I’m putting it on is almost ready to go. Just a few kinks to iron out.

On a final note, that mobiTV that came built into my cell phone is pretty cool.

Freekrai.net got upgraded Saturday morning without a hitch. The new site has launched nicely.

Also started running ads from casale on Article Base to see if I get any decent returns from there.

Next site to get a new facelift is my travel site. Also considering splitting that site up into two seperate sites with one dedicated to hotel bookings.

Ok, so I just finished getting everything in place so that one day this week I’ll be upgrading freekrai.net to go with the new design and CMS. Just making sure everything is moved over to the new site first.

Also getting ready to redesign a couple more of my sites that just turned 1 years old. My travel site, http://www.friendly-travel.info and my credit card site http://www.find-cards.com, but of these sites have made me money and will be getting facelifts shortly.

Other than that, getting a couple new scripts finished to launch and working on some new Amazon sites.

At the moment, I’ve got so many ideas for new scripts and sites to get out there that it’s hard to know where to begin.

I end up starting a script, getting an idea for another one, working on that one, then stopping and going back to the other one I had started working on. Then sometimes, I just scrap that one and that with a fresh approach again.

At some point, I’ll settle on one idea and keep with it. Probably anyway.

Yesterday, I mentioned that I was doing some changes on my image hosting site, 123 Image Hosting, last night, I gave the site a nice new face lift. Much better than the previous design that it had and began getting some new features laid out that I want to add to it.

I’m planning on getting to work now to get this site up there in the search engines pretty quickly. This site gets good traffic already and I want to double that as soon as I can.

My site 123 Image Hosting, is one of my best traffic sites. But I haven’t really been doing anything to capitalize on it.

Last night, I decided to start taking care of that. There are two ways people can use the site, anonymously and by signing up.

So, the adsense experiments I did have had mixed results.

It pretty much depends on the visitor and what he is looking for which is what I said originally before I even tried these experiments. Will let them run a bit longer though to see how it plays out.

Last week, I bought one of those mead Zwipes erasable pen. You write with it, then use the “ink unlocker” to undo the ink and then rub over it with the eraser on the pen. Doesn’t work. Leaves your paper with a big oily stain and the words still sit there. Save your money. Stay Away From Them!

Ok, so today I decided to start trying some new experiments to start monetizing my web sites more. I get lots of traffic from them so I decided it was time to start doing something with them.

First, I changed http://www.article-base.info to display 3 types of adsense ads, so I’ll give them a week or so to see how it goes.

Then, I changed http://www.your-mac-store.com to have different types of ads too.

The two of them use a different format so I’ll try them both and see what the end results end up being.

I’m trying to post on here every 2 days, so far, it’s once a week, but I’ll get that down better shortly.

Last week, I spent some money and set up a nice new Linux box to act as a file server / backup server / CVS server / etc.

I got the case a few months ago, it’s a mini tower because I didn’t need a full size tower for this computer. Picked up a ASUS mini-ATX board and an AMD Sempron 2400 CPU, then l picked up 512 Megs of RAM and a 120 Gig hard drive plus a DVD drive to go with it. I’m planning on adding more hard drives later, but 120 was all I needed right now.

Finally, I installed Fedora Core 3 on it and set it up next to my Mac Mini. Actually, the box is sitting on top of the desk, and the Mac is sitting on top of the box. They look nice that way and still leaves me lost of desk space thanks to both computers being small.

I have a KVM switch running between the two which works nicely for switching between the two computers

Now that that’s done, I have to work out a decent backup script to backup my web server onto that computer.

I also bought a new 3 MegaPixel Digital CamCorder. My last Camcorder got stolen last year when my house got robbed so I’d been planning on buying a new for the past year and this new one was fully digital and looks pretty cool. It stores pictures and video both to SDRAM card so then I can use the laptop to convert the videos straight into DVDs.

On other news, I’ve been busy with different other projects lately. Getting some new scripts ready to sell and doing some client work.

Basically, business as usual.
